Can the US Really Replace Gasoline with Electricity?
With the upcoming launch of the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt electric cars, the American consumer is about to have a viable alternative to gasoline to meet their personal transportation needs. By now we’ve all heard much talk about our “addiction to oil.” Is it realistic to think that America would wean itself from petroleum as we start to use electric cars to get to and from work? We dusted off the old college physics and mathematics textbooks to run some calculations and create the below infographic.
